Large Regency Rosewood Centre Table.

A magnificent and exceptionally rare 19th century English, Regency period, rosewood centre table, of unusually large proportions. Having superbly figured circular turned central support, enclosed by four further turned supports, with foliate carved decoration throughout. Terminating on quad form platform base with original turned feet and original recessed castors.

It is incredibly rare to find a centre table from the Regency period of this scale, especially one as magnificent as this. For such a large item it boasts incredible elegance, due to the skill and craftsmanship which has gone into producing all of the finer details.

At exactly five feet round it's absolutely perfect for a large entrance hall table, or indeed a central standing table in any other room around the house. It is also designed in such a way that one would be able to pull chairs up to it and use it as a dining table should they wish.

Overall the quality is excellent, with top notch figured rosewood veneers used to ensure that the top is as decorative as it could possibly be and elegant outer turned supports ensuring that the table is not just elegant to look at but also functional in terms of stability. The carved decoration is also particularly crisp and another indication of how skilled the maker of this item must have been.

As with all items which we offer for sale this 5ft round regency centre table has been inspected in our workshops by our traditional antique furniture restorers before being offered for sale, ensuring that it is ready for immediate placement.

We don't expect to have this long as these large circular tables are incredibly hard to find and therefore incredibly sought after, especially when they are such exceptional examples as this particular one is.
