I was on holiday in France, in those far off days when we were allowed to travel abroad and one morning I saw three gnomes sitting in the window of a small seaside antiques` shop.
Whilst gnomes are considered a bit of a joke in the UK, they have a strong influence on story telling abroad.
From Nordic regions come tales of Father Christmas`s elf helpers and in Norway Trolls everywhere together with
figures like Rumpelstiltskin in Germany and Leprechauns in Ireland and finally in England, the Little Grey Men.
B,B`s wonderful stories of the last honest to goodness gnomes in Britain who lived by hunting and fishing.
So my gnomes are looking for a new home to which they will bring good luck. I believe our gnomes originated some years ago in Eastern Europe and they are interestingly decorated on Terra Cotta.
