I wonder what the artist, Lucca Madrassi called this youth, similar figures are known as young gladiators.
Maybe he was a young gladiator too.
Lucca Madrassi was born in Italy in 1848, studied in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and later became a French national.
He executed a number of bronze busts, statuettes, statues and groups and has been described as a very imaginative artists.
