Georgian Pewter Tazza.
Rare Georgian Provincial Tazza.
With Dished Top on a Turned Stem and Moulded Foot.
Polished and Patinated Pewter.
English, circa 1750.
Dimensions
10.80cms high x 21.58cms diameterCondition report
Unusual domestic pewter Tazza with broad rim and folded edge dished top, raised on a disc knop stem with a stepped and moulded foot. The pewter is wonderfully patinated with a silky-smooth surface showing evidence of its age. The dished top is worn and delightfully misshapen and bears marks, scuffs, and incidental staining commensurate with its function. The substantial base is in comparatively good condition, with a well-polished "silvery" coloured surface, also slightly wounded in places. A rare piece with great form, texture and colour.Stock number
