well loved and looked after throughout the 200 years plus of
its existence. It is indeed extremely unusual for a dresser base
of this period to retain all of its original brassware as this one 
does. The piece also boasts a real elegance due to its simple 
but well executed form, which is accentuated buy the delightful
shaped frieze which contrasts with the relative plainness of the
remainder of the piece. Perfect for a variety of places around 
home this dresser base would look beautiful along a wall in a
narrow hallway, on the back of a large settee, in a kitchen/dining
room, or even in a living room due to its relatively restrained form
for a country made piece of furniture. Im sure there are many
