George IV silver Scottish fish slice.
Top quality and rare, sterling silver Scottish George IV fish slice of very good gauge. Made in Glasgow in 1826 by Mitchell and Son. The centre of the blade is pierced with decorative fronds around a fish. The fiddle and thread pattern handle is engraved with a capital W or M and is joined to the blade by a fish with a curved tail. The full set of hallmarks is struck on the reverse of the handle and although the makers mark is slightly rubbed, it is legible.
