First Period Worcester Porcelain Yellow-ground Botanical Openwork Fruit Baskets.

A Pair.

Circa 1775.

The oval-shaped baskets have yellow ground pierced trellis sides.  The baskets are well painted on the inside with a large bouquet of spring flowers of puce, iron-red, purple, yellow and green, and profusely painted with scattered brightly colored sprigs around the sides.  The exterior has applied blue-centered puce rose florets on the yellow ground.

The moulded handles on either side are in the shape of twigs, with finely painted large applied flowers and leaves at the terminals.

Dimensions: 9 inches wide x 7 1/4 inches deep x 4 inches at handles; (22.86cm wide x 18.42cm deep x 10.16cm high).
