French Faience Massive Shallow Basin in the style of Moustier, Edme Samson et Cie, Paris.

Circa 1885.

A massive tin-glazed faience earthenware basin with a lobed edge depicts American Indians and grotesques amongst exotic and mythical beasts and birds after the Clérissy workshop at Moustier.

This is a Moustier example: Here is an example of his tin-glaze earthenware work on exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Musuem.
