Exceptional Chinese export porcelain soup tureen, cover and stand decorated in pink opaque enamel from the famille rose (fencai) palette with the Fitzhugh pattern and a gilt medallion with a European house and carriage, c. 1800, Jiaqing reign, Qing dynasty, w. of stand 36 cm, 14¼ in. 4.13170

◆ Elements of this border pattern were first seen in Chinese porcelain in the 1760’s. A dinner service from c. 1775 ordered by the Hoare family already had the butterfly with open wings. A later service owned by the FitzHugh family gave the style its name.

獨特且非常珍稀的中國外銷瓷粉彩帶蓋湯盆及托盤，器身繪Fitzhugh式樣並有一處圓形描金開光，內繪一幢歐式房屋及馬車，約1800年，清嘉慶，托盤寬36釐米，14 ¼英吋。
