Redware Pottery
English Large Red-glazed Earthenware Engine-turned Coffee Pot & Cover
Circa 1770
The large redware bulbous-form coffee pot and cover is decorated with alternating engine-turned designs of diagonal-reed engine-turned decoration of zig-zag lines and wavy lines.
The spout is in the form of a bird head. The body is glazed with a deep red shiny glaze.
The tip of the spout has an old break to the upper part of the birds beak which needs to be redone.
Mark: Small square Pseudo-Chinese impressed mark.
