A rare Yorkshire, Castleford type, felspathic pottery commemorative jug, c. 1805. The white bodied jug, sprigged with well defined reliefs - Nelson depicted riding in Neptune’s sea horse drawn chariot, holding Neptune’s trident, whilst Neptune holds his crown over the head of Nelson. A relief of The Victory sits beneath the spout, with a further relief of Britannia accompanied by a lion, pointing towards a figure of Victory, brandishing a laurel wreath, and blowing a triumphal horn.
