An Elizabeth I needlework valance panel, circa 1590.

Worked in tent-stitch using coloured wools with silk highlights, designed with Abraham, the Angels he entertained to the left, and Sarah and Isaac to the right, all within a landscape of trees, animals, castles, buildings and various flowers. The frame covered in 17th century glazed linen.
