Dated: 1810 to 1820 Staffordshire England

The creamware pottery dessert service is hand decorated with images of flowers and leaves, the Latin name of each plant written on the back in block capitals. The plates have a distinctive flower and leaf motif in brown painted on the outer rim, a feature that leads to a Davenport pottery attribution.

Davenport's work is always high quality, and the decoration on this set is a testament to their artistic excellence and style. The set comprises a comport with cover, two oval baskets with stands, four shaped dishes, and six plates. It makes a wonderful, interesting display with a variety of shapes and decorations.

Current Condition: One handle is restored on a basket and a minor chip on one plate.
