A very good quality early George III period silver lidded tankard made in London in 1765 by William and James Priest. The tankard is of a classic bellied form with domed lid and beautifully pierced thumbpiece. The tankard is engraved with the initials and date of the original recipient (S.B 1766)and it is in superb condition. It also retains its original scratch weight of 25 Troy 15 Dwt to the underside.
