A rare and magnificent Antique Silver George III Basket made in 1811 by John William Story and William Elliott of London. This superb large oblong basket has an egg and dart decorated border with a stunning cast and pierced vine leaf border surrounding the plain interior. The swing handle and foot of the basket are also finely pierced. The basket bears two important family crests one to either end. The crests both have royal crowns above and one crest is encircled by a motto of the Order of the Garter. One of the finest regency period baskets I have seen for a long time. This would be a lovely centrepiece and perfect for bread, cake, fruit or biscuits.
