A handsome large carved wooden rocking horse by F.H.Ayres on its original stand with turned pillars and the head slightly tilted. The horse has been sensitively restored retaining much of its original paint and brass studs; we used old horse tack for the stirrup leathers and harness.
The brass brackets, the back turned pillar and the mane and tail hair are replacements.
Ayres and their competitor Lines were the finest rocking horse makers in the early 20th century.
