About

Moxhams Antiques

Moxhams Antiques have been established in Bradford-on-Avon for 48 years. They have one of the largest stocks outside London of good period English and Continental furniture from the late seventeenth to the late nineteenth century, displayed in 11 spacious showrooms in the shop and in the warehouse to the rear. Emphasis is placed on originality, good proportions, quality and untouched colour and patination.

Stock

Town furniture includes library and dining room furniture – dining tables and chairs, breakfront bookcases. There is usually some bedroom furniture in stock. They are particularly keen on 18th Century furniture and the lines of a good standard-end sofa table or pair of demi-lune card tables. In country furniture they usually have several good dressers, court cupboards and farm or refectory tables on display.

Nick Bichard

The business is run by Nick Bichard, in partnership with his mother Jill: Nick has had 20 years training from his late father Roger. Nick travels widely throughout England and Scotland in search of good stock for the business and also sources decorative items from Europe. Recently Moxhams has acquired things as diverse as a rare set of a sofa table and a pair of card tables, a beautiful red walnut Irish side table and a top quality satinwood tea trolley dating from about 1900.
