A fine late 18th century three pillar dining table with four handsome umbrella shaped legs, gun barrel stems and original cup castors. The top is in particularly well figured mahogany, the 2 loose leaves are in well matched period timber but are not original.

This is one of the better tables we’ve had not just because of the quality of the wood, and incidentally it is surprisingly heavy, but also because the bases are big and have a gutsy elegance about them. Most of our 3 pillar tables are Regency early 19th Century period, but this table is slightly earlier circa 1795 with its spade feet, 18th Century castors, the straight edge of the tops without any mouldings and lovely hand-made screws underneath.

We originally bought this table over 20 years ago in Worcestershire
