Antique Mocha Pearlware Large Earthworm Tankard.

Circa 1800.

This impressive Mocha tankard, crafted from pearlware in circa 1800, is a captivating example of early 19th-century English pottery. The tankard's design centers on a dynamic tri-color earthworm, its form looping gracefully against a warm ochre background.

The piece boasts a robust construction, featuring a wide, flaring foot for stability. Three distinct groupings of white and brown bands encircle the midsection, adding a touch of geometric flair.  Towards the top, a series of molded bands painted in green provide further visual interest.  The loop handle, adorned with simple leaf terminals at each end, offers a comfortable grip.
