Dated: 1715 London England
A rare London delftware pottery bowl of good size with a double scroll Buddhist motif ruyi symbolizing "what one desires" applied in polychrome colours. The star shaped foliage on the trees is a unique feature of the Vauxhall delftworks of Jonathan Chilwell. The Chinese inspired decoration is very redolent of Nepalese and Tibetan art forms.
