The BADA Christmas Gift List18th Century Whieldon-type Tortoise-shell Teapot and Cover.
Circa 1765.
The tortoise-shell molded teapot and cover is decorated with a molded design of grapes and leaves issuing from the top of the crabstock handle with traces of the original honey gilding visible. The cover is similarly decorated with a branch form finial with a bunch of grapes on one side and a large leaf on the other issuing from the handle. There are chips to the interior flange and the inner flange of the cover.
Dimensions: 5 inches high x 8 inches wide x 5 inches deep (12.7cm high x 20.32cm wide x 12.7cm deep).
