A fine 18th Century mahogany long case clock. This beautifully proportioned clock has an 8-day movement with anchor escapement and hour striking. The 12” break-arch brass and silvered dial with silent/strike, second and date chapter rings and blued steel hands. The fine-quality mahogany case has well-chosen flame veneers to the trunk door and to the base panel and has brass stop-fluted columns to the hood and trunk. The clock is topped off with fine fret-work and brass finials. It bears the name "Nick Gordelier, London" which is probably the retailer. In very good condition . English. Circa 1780.
