A superb quality late 18th century Georgian mahogany Secretaire Cupboard, having well figured and banded top over one secretaire drawer to frieze.

Enclosing attractive satinwood interior with arrangement of drawers and central cupboard plus faux suede writing surface.

Above two superbly figured panel doors enclosing sliding trays raised on original shaped bracket feet.

This charming and rather functional cupboard is extremely good quality and very well made.

Designed originally for somebody to stand at and write it has real elegance for a relatively large piece of furniture.

Although it is now in relatively good condition for its age and has been cleaned and polished in our workshops it has clearly had a lot of use over the years meaning that upon close inspection there are quite a few minor historic restorations, bumps, scrapes, repairs and losses.

None of these things particularly detract from the piece and it's charm however and it would make a great addition to many rooms with a touch of 18th century sophistication thrown in.

Circa 1770.

Height - 42in.
Width - 45in.
Depth - 22in.
