A very good quality late 18th century mahogany George III period Partners Writing Table of good proportions.

Having attractive old leather inset top with gilt tooled decoration over six frieze drawers retaining original brass handles.

Flanked by crossbanded inlaid tablets to each corner, raised on elegant square tapered legs with original brass castors.

A very good quality table of good functional proportions that can be used as both a desk for every day use in an office or study, or alternatively as a central standing table or decorative table in any other room, due to its undoubted elegance.

The leather is not original but has some significant age to it, but remains in good, relatively clean condition.

The gilt tooled decoration is elegantly carried out and the six drawers retain their original brass fittings.

Another lovely feature is the banded tablet panels at the top of each leg, which would of course have contrasted significantly more against the mahogany when the table was first made.

Circa 1780.

Height - 30.5in.
Width - 60in.
Depth - 39in.
