18th Century Creamware Red-printed Tea Caddy.
Circa 1765-75.
The creamware tea caddy or teapoy is rectangular in form with large panels to front and back with a concave edge to each side. The sides are curved and the sloping shoulders rise to a narrow circular neck.
One panel is printed in red with the milkmaid and companion beneath a tree with two dogs to his side and cows in the background to her side. The other side shows a group of cows in the foreground fording a river framed by trees to each side and a farm house in the background.
Dimensions: 4 inches high x 2 7/8 inches wide x 2 inches deep.
