A 17th century child's wainscot chair.
A charming little Charles II oak wainscot chair in excellent untouched condition and with excellent provenance. Of typical wainscot chair form, it has a lovely panelled back decorated with a fleur de lis within a panelled frame.
Recently acquired from a private collection, it is illustrated in Chinnery page 360 fig. 3:481 and was sold as part of the renowned Fardon Collection by Christies on 1st May 1996 lot 275 when it was estimated at £1800-2500.
It stands 23 inches high. Excellent colour and patination.
