A 15th century polychromed limewood carving of Saint Barbara, Flemish, circa 1500.
Standing dressed in voluminous robes over her gown, her father trampled beneath her feet, hollowed out back.
Although more usually depicted with the tower in which her father imprisoned her, St Barbara is occasionally represented stomping on her father in this way.
