A solid burr elm book shaped snuff box, having a lid with a full width metal hinge, that opens to reveal a carved out spacious interior. The exterior has a rounded spine and has an excellent grain, and it is most unusual to find a snuff box carved from the solid in burr elm, as they are more often found in other woods. The whole has an excellent colour, grain and patination.
