English delftware pottery farmyard plate with a peacock, Bristol delftworks 18th century.
Dated: 1720 to 1735 Bristol England.
English delftware earthenware plate with the image of a strutting peacock amongst trees. The strong coloured decoration is painted and sponged in blue, red, yellow, and manganese purple. Several patterns and variations on the "peacock" theme were produced mainly at the Bristol workshops.
Diameter: 9 inches.
Current Condition: Minor fritting at rim and of good appearance.
