10 June deadline for Anti-Money Laundering registration fast approaches – take action now.
The 10th June 2021 deadline for art market participants (AMPs) to register with HMRC is now just around the corner!
An AMP is someone who carries out transactions for more than €10,000 (currently c. £8,700) involving works of art.
This could include general furniture dealers who sell paintings or sculpture priced at that level.
Ivory Act – Implementation Consultation by Defra
Defra’s long-promised consultation on Implementing the Ivory Act has been issued with a response deadline of 4 May 2021

HMRC January email about Fulfilment Houses – genuine, but HMRC sent it to wrong recipients
Last month I warned members about an email information request purporting to be from HMRC and sent to some dealers in connection with the Fulfilment House Due Diligence Scheme. A leading auction house had been in touch with HMRC, and was told that the email was fraudulent.
From July 2020 onwards, the first 5 certificates in any quarter will be billed at £24 including VAT and UK postage.
Any subsequent certificates issued within the same quarter will be billed at the reduced rate of £18.
Certificates for objects already uploaded to bada.org can be requested in the Members menu at top right under "Issue a Certificate".
