William and Mary Cushion Framed Mirror.

An extremely charming late 17th century William and Mary period walnut cushion framed wall mirror. Of exceptional untouched colour and patina, retaining original mirror plate.

This is one of the most charming little mirrors that we have owned for quite some time. As can be seen from the images, the mirror plate itself is very much pitted and silvered, but it is original and wow doesn't it add great character. However, it is not one that we would recommend to anybody looking for a mirror in a spot where they actually need to see the reflection.

The cushioned frame is made in sections, as expected for one from this period. It retains a fabulous rich, warm colour to go alongside the aforementioned original mirror plate.

This mirror has real charm and character and is actually something which we would happily add to our own collection at home, given the chance. After all, it is relatively rare to find a mirror of this date and form which is still as untouched and original as this particular one. It would make an absolutely great addition to almost any collection, room, or spot for anybody who loves and appreciates traditional English antique furniture.
