William Greaves was born in Leeds in 1852. He studied at Sheffield College of Art and later exhibited at galleries throughout the U.K including the Royal Academy, Liverpool and the Royal Cambrian Academy.
This lovely example is signed lower right and is framed giving an overall size of 19"x 23". On the reverse is a nice old inscription in the artist's hand with the title "Apple Blossom with Sheep, Asquith, Wharfedale".
