Vintage Heriz Runner.
3.66 x 1.00 m.
Early Heriz carpets from north-west Persia are in a class of their own. Prized for their geometric designs, fine durable construction, and creative use of vegetable-dyed colours, they make ideal long-lasting rugs and have always stood out for their striking tribal motifs. In our experience, Heriz carpets prove to be among the most versatile decorative weavings, with the ability to unite both modern and traditional design elements in a room.
This charming Heriz runner features a bold, graphic diamond motif, repeated across the field in a variety of earthy red ochre, terracotta and tan tones, with accents of muted blue – a restained palette, well suited to this piece’s well-balanced composition. The central design is framed by a decorative border.
Retained in very good practical condition for everyday use, still retaining its original fringes.
A charming tribal piece, to add character to any setting – rare in this narrow format.
