English Country House Rocking Bench, circa 1960.

A rare, 5ft long English country house, parkland, garden, patio or conservatory, teak, rocking bench.

Made from the highest quality teak, probably Burmese, with a slat back and seat, the rail and slatted back above a concave seat with two square armrests and rocking mechanism with locking feature.

This elegant bench is weathered to a beautiful silver grey and durable as the natural oil in teak ensures they can sit for decades in the landscape.

It is very hard to date this bench due to the durability of teak.

English teak garden furniture has been exported all around the world, its reputation of fine quality being underlined by the fact that many pieces of original furniture like this bench can still be found in beautiful condition, bearing the test of time.

Provenance: Private Collection, English parkland and country house.
