Victorian Gold Diamond set Drop Earrings circa 1880.
An elegant pair of late Victorian old cut diamond set drop earrings.
These stylish gold earings have an old cut diamond set within a star design to the centre. In a typically late Victorian design they are hollow in construction and are tiered in design onto an articulated long hook. The reverse is open allowing light to shine through the diamond.
These elegant earrings have an unusual bell shaped design to the base of the hook fittings through which the earring is attached and this gives lovely movement to the earrings when worn.
Era: Victorian, 1839 - 1901.
Measurements: Earrings 2.8cm in length (including hook), 1.6cm wide.
5.5 grams in weight (pair).
Total diamond weight estimated 0.20 carats (pair).
Hallmarks: Unmarked - tests 15ct gold.
