Victorian cane stand with sailor design.
A Victorian cast-iron cane stand, of typical form.
This example is of a nautical theme, the central figure being a young sailor boy holding a looped rope, which forms the upper band to hold the canes in place.
The figure stands on a monopoly of maritime items, and the lower section is modelled as rocks on the sea shore - with a painted black removable drip tray.
English.
Date circa 1880.
