19th Century Walnut Salon Stool.

An Excellent Quality Mid 19th Century, Victorian Period, Walnut Rectangular Salon Stool Having Delightful Old Needlework Tapestry Seat, Over Crisp Carved Moulded Frame, Raised On Elegant Carved Cabriole Legs And Castors.

With Original Cabinet Makers Label To Frame - "W Constantine & Co, Leeds".

William Constantine & Company operated in South Parade, Leeds during the period 1834 - 1882 and were a well respected firm of their time, employing up to 100 workers, including 15 carvers alone. Their products became a byword for quality and furniture made in their workshops always commanded high prices.

This lovely little stool dates to the mid 19th century and is constructed, as you would expect, from high quality solid walnut timbers which has been extremely crisply and elegantly carved. It retains a lovely old needlework upholstered cover and this could well be original but we cannot be certain of that.

Perfect for a host of spaces around the home, this stool is also something which could be used for a whole host of different purposes. Overall it is in good sound condition and ready for immediate placement within the home.

Circa 1860.

Height 17in.
