Sir Leslie Matthew Ward (1851-1922) painted 1,325 caricature portraits for Vanity Fair magazine over four decades under the pseudonyms ‘Spy’ and ‘Drawl’. Such were produced as watercolours and turned into chromolithographs for publication in the magazine. These were also reproduced on better quality paper and sold as prints.
