An unusual silver flask with enamel plaque depicting the ship Niagara.
Lloyds Register of Yachts states that Nathaniel Herreshoff, the most famous American yacht designer and builder of the period, built Niagara in Rhode Island in 1895. On completion, Niagara was shipped to England where her racing record became legendary.
The engraved initials DHM on the lid are repeated by the enamel signal flags on the back of the flask.
The flask measures 6" (15.2cm) x 3.75" (9.5cm) and is contained in its original case.
