A rare and fine example of a Wooly Mammoth Tusk set upon a custom made bronzed base.

Late Pleistocene Period circa 35,000 years ago.

Superb example of an Ice Age natural history specimen of a Wooly Mammoth Tusk (Mammuthus Primigenius), with natural curve, beautiful striated surface and colour of natural petrified patina running from soft white to dark brown. Of good size and proportions without restoration and filling. The tusk has been professional preserved to protect it from drying out. A large and rarely found intact example having present the root and natural tip.

The custom bronzed base having an artistic curvature giving the piece a very fine design appeal.

The length of the tusk from tip to root is 46 inches - 117cm and height without the stand is 19 inches - 49cm.
