A Superb Spode Porcelain Pot Pourri Vase & Cover. Pattern 1166, Circa 1820.
The Krater shaped vase having large ring handles, and set upon a square pedestal foot. The whole beautifully hand painted and gilded in the 1166 pattern of vibrantly painted flowers interspersed by gilt "Mons" and gilt scale, upon a rich cobalt blue ground. Having its original pierced inner liner and the rare addition of an outer cover, similarly decorated to the base and surmounted by a gilt flame form finial.
