Square Format Antique Heriz Carpet.

3.50 x 2.94 m.

Early Heriz carpets from Northwest Persia are in a class of their own. Prized for their geometric designs, fine durable construction and creative use of vegetable-dyed colours, they make ideal long-lasting rugs, and have always stood out for their striking tribal motifs. In our experience, Heriz carpets prove to be among the most versatile decorative weavings, with the ability to unite both modern and traditional design elements in a room.

An attractive square-format Heriz carpet, dating to c. 1910, with a bold, graphic drawing in relation to its size. The rich variety of vegetable-dyed colours include several shades of green, light blue, ivory and terracotta, all nicely aged with the four ivory spandrels balancing the central design.

This Heriz carpet is in very good to excellent condition for everyday use, still retaining its original borders and fringes on all sides.

A stylish example to complement a variety of spaces, rare in this square format.
