A superb quality early 19th century Regency period mahogany bowfronted chest, of rare small proportions. Having extremely well figured top over two short and two long drawers with replacement brass handles. Raised on elegant original turned, tapering legs.

This is a quite beautiful piece of antique regency furniture. The proportions are incredibly rare, much smaller than is most commonly seen and that in itself gives the piece great elegance and sophistication. The choice of mahogany timbers is also exceptional, with rich, well figured mahogany used which retains exceptional colour and patina to this very day.The chest also has a panelled back which is always another great sign of quality.

It retains it’s original turned feet, but has replacement brass handles. These do however look perfectly in keeping with the rest of the piece and actually really add to the look of it.

Overall the condition is excellent, used but not abused and as with all the items we offer for sale it has been attended to in our workshops by our highly skilled and trained antique furniture restorers in the traditional fashion before being offered for sale. This means it is in good retail condition and ready to go into immediate use.

Circa 1820.

Height 33in.
Width 30in.
