Small Regency Giltwood Convex Mirror.

A charming regency period, 19th century, giltwood circular convex mirror, of unusually small proportions. Having attractive carved frame with foliate and strapwork decoration, enclosing original plate, surmounted by delightful carved eagle on rocks.

This charming convex mirror oozes class, sophistication and elegance.

It is very rare to find one this small and particularly one this small which has been executed so well in terms of the detailed carving.

It remains in good condition, with the giltwork having aged gracefully and therefore retaining a lovely lustre to the gilding. There is also absolutely no reason to believe that the mirror plate itself is not original and again that is a particularly nice feature.

There is various old marks, scuffs, scrapes and rubbed areas, all of which are commensurate with age and add to the overall character of the piece without detracting from it aesthetically in the slightest.

Circa 1820.

Height 25in.
