Small British Oak carved Centre table, circa 1610 – 1620.  From the patination and quality of the wood it is probable that this table was made in Wales.

It is of very high quality and lovely proportions, with a wonderful surface to the two plank top and well carved rails with lower sections cut out to simulate spandrels on two of the four sides.

The other two sides have the shaped pieces attached. The legs are well turned. There are two later blocks screwed under the top for reinforcing, and one spandrel is later.
