A silver vesta cane with a cone-shaped silver handle, hinged to open and reveal matches.

The cane further decorated with a silver serpent on the ebony shaft.

'Vesta' cases are small portable boxes designed to contain matches and keep them dry. They take their name from the Roman goddess of fire and the family hearth.
