A silver gilt Roemer, marked for Nuremberg circa 1690; maker’s mark a running dog for Meister Mit Leufenden Hund (1681 – 1701 ) – see Nuremberg Goldsmiths by Dr. Tebbe, p.1061. The piece is 13 cms tall, is 8.25 cms in diameter at the top, and weighs 4 ozs approx. A very similar piece is illustrated in ‘ Deutsches Silber 1550 – 1850 , Formen und Typen’ by Claus Overzier , plate 9 on page 25.
