A unique, late-19th century, Spanish walnut & gilded, 3-seat, settee upholstered in exceptionally, rare, 18th century, polychrome & gilded leather panels

- A beautiful statement & conversation piece injecting gravitas, atmosphere and charm to any interior
- Gilded and painted leather was used as wall hangings and upholstery in elite interiors in the 17th and early 18th century favored for its opulence, softness, and hard wearing qualities.
- These gilded, leather panels are of exceptional quality and in excellent condition retaining the original gilding and polychrome decoration. They have been removed from the settee and conserved.
- Retaining the original brass studs and fringe.
- The floral spray design of the leather panels on the front is beautiful and intricate and the larger scale floral and fruit design with a large bird on the back is a lively contrast.
