A set of four George III Antique Silver Candlesticks made in 1792 with baluster shaped columns and beautiful bright-cut engraving as decoration. At the base of each column is a leaf design which is repeated at the base of each nozzle.
The round bases have a border of a bright cut design. Each candlestick in the set is numbered from one to four, the number is revealed under the removable sconces.
These beautiful candlesticks have very fine bright-cut engraving which became very popular in the latter part of the eighteenth century - engraving like this is quite rare on candlesticks as it is more commonly seen on salvers, trays and tea ware. These rare candlesticks are in crisp and fine condition.
