Satsuma pottery basket, Kinkozan, Meiji Period. The circular basket, hand painted with a panel of a bird, walking beneath flowering plants. The reverse with flowering wisteria.
All on an underglaze cobalt blue ground, with a dense covering of gilt foliage, interspersed with raised enamel flower heads.
Set upon four stub feet.

Original paper label to the underside.

Height – 10 cm, 4”.

Width – 9.5 cm, 3 3/4”.

Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
